What We Have
Around the world, catamarans (twin-hull) boats are mainly used for racing or for handling rough seas. There are also larger cruiser types with houses built on top. However, until now, these boats haven’t been used as much for fishing. Through effort, we have managed to overcome the disadvantages of catamarans to solidify a unique position in the Japanese leisure boat market.
1. Improving the Outward Tilt (Outer Swing) in Turning
By narrowing the width of the boat, and lowering the center of gravity, we stabilized turning.
2. Assuring Stability on the Waves
Catamarans are known for having trouble moving straight when different levels of resistance are applied to the right and left hulls and it is also difficult to keep straight in wavy conditions.
Our original Asymmetrical Catamaran Hulls (the shapes of each hull on the left and right are asymmetrical), have been developed to achieve stability when moving straight forward.
3.Current Skeg for Navigation on One Engine
Catamarans basically run on at least 2 engines, but by attaching our unique Current Skeg (protrusion), they can run on just one.
The Current Skeg’s bottom shape was inspired by the Apollo Program Command Ship.
What It Brings
The following four features of our catamarans, even the smaller ones, offer the same stability and ease of use as large boats.
1. Excellent lateral stability
2. Side-wind resistance when stopping the boat to fish
3. Superior comfort when riding at high speeds
4. Good fuel efficiency
Since most of Japan’s waters face the open sea, and it’s customary to stop the boat for fishing, there is strong demand for catamarans with superior stability that won’t easily drift in wind. This is why our company has received high praise in the Japanese pleasure boat market.
Compared to the stability of mono-hull boats which tilt inwards when turning (inclining towards the inside of the turning circle), catamarans tend to turn outwards. making them not such a comfortable choice for leisure and fishing. Our unique design modifications help to overcome this problem, making it easier to use catamarans as recreational boats.
What’s more, when run at regular speeds, the fuel efficiency of our catamarans is 15-20% better than that of mono-hull boats.
If you want to enjoy marine recreation in comfort, while saving money on fuel and protecting the environment, NJM has the answer.
Why Competitive ?
Boasting overwhelming stability and wind-drift resistance, our catamarans feature the same level of control as regular boats. On top of that, they offer you excellent fuel efficiency.
How To Be Utilized
Test-driven by boat critics, NMJ catamarans have been featured in several technical articles in boat magazines.
Our NSC series includes 7 models: NSC265, NSC26, NSC245, NSC245W, NSC22C, NSC22K, and NSC22T.
